London’s Climate Story Bank: Londoners’ experiences of the climate crisis
Hypha x recessed.space Gallery 2 / No.1 Poultry, Bank, EC2R 8EN
About this Event
Health systems hit by heatwaves, new plants in parks, and families on the frontlines: the climate crisis is hitting London, and it is changing lives faster and more profoundly than we realise. But Londoners are taking action.
Using a mixture of artworks, testimonies and found materials, London’s Climate Story Bank is an engaging and people-centered exhibition about how London and Londoners are experiencing the early impacts of the climate crisis. It’s a place to share your own stories, and be inspired by the people fighting back.
Featuring the artists who freed Tate from BP, fed up south London teenagers, people trapped in London’s hottest homes, communities celebrating Black ecological histories, gardens that shouldn’t exist and much, much more.
Opening hours: 5th June to 11th July, Weds and Thurs (12 – 7pm), and weekends (11am – 5pm)
Free and drop-in entry, no tickets required
We can arrange private group tours on request: email londonsclimatestorybank@gmail.com
London's Climate Story Bank
London's Climate Story Bank is a new project from writer and policy specialist Martha Dillon and illustrator Nina Carter, who together formerly founded and co-led the highly critically acclaimed climate magazine It's Freezing in LA!. They experiment with new, creative methods for climate engagement and dialogue that put social justice and community action at the heart.
The gallery is level access, with step-free access available from Bank station. Large print captions are available, and we are happy to arrange private viewings to facilitate other accessibility needs, email londonsclimatestorybank@gmail.com.
