About this Event
We are launching the inaugural Curious Cities Assembly during London Climate Action Week 2026.
CCA is a new gathering of local leaders, advocates and experts focused on making cities safer, healthier and more liveable, while tackling the climate crisis. Through the lens of children, we’ll explore evidence-led, practical steps to cut toxic air, carbon emissions, road danger and shape places so everyone can move with independence, not car dependence.
Across two days, sessions will focus on turning evidence into action, sharing new research, showcasing success and building the political confidence needed to scale change across cities. With Clean Cities’ over one hundred partners across 20 countries, we’re building a movement and uniting people from different disciplines. Combined with commitments, practical tools and examples, we will help progressive city officials move from ideas to implementation.
The guest list of 150 attendees will include: Progressive local councillors and local authority officials; experts, practitioners and academics from a range of disciplines; grassroots advocates within and beyond the movement. The event will livestream enabling those not present to follow the programme, as well as recordings to be shared at a later date.
There are two major goals for the Assembly:
1: Set the agenda and jump-start delivery. Bring newly elected (or re-elected) councillors and senior officers together with civil society and experts so they leave with practical next steps to deliver child-friendly streets, backed by fresh, agenda-setting evidence. The Assembly will launch new research to build momentum and make it easier for councils to act quickly and confidently.
2: Join forces: Make kids’ streets everyone’s business. Unite the climate, health and built environment worlds to define and inspire a shared agenda that treats reducing car dominance – including tackling the biggest, most polluting vehicles – as credible climate action, while also improving safety, health and everyday independence for children and families.
Clean Cities Campaign
Clean Cities Campaign is Europe’s largest network of organisations on a mission to build public support for cities to shift from polluting cars to active, shared and electric mobility.
We have projects, campaigners and partners on the ground in France, Italy, Spain, Poland, the UK, and across Central and Eastern Europe. We are also part of the global Clean Mobility Collective that campaigns for zero-emission freight transport in the USA, Asia and Europe.
