Climate Resilient Transition Planning in the Metals and Mining Sector (IFRS and TPT-aligned)
online event
About this Event
The gap between recognizing climate risk and acting on it is well documented. Closing it requires more than better reporting — it demands stronger organizational capabilities, governance, and decision-making processes that translate climate risk analysis into concrete adaptation actions.
This 90-minute session brings together the lead co-authors, industry practitioners, and disclosure experts to explore how mining sustainability teams can move beyond compliance into climate-resilient transition planning and implementation.
Drawing on a newly published set of white papers, the session examines how progressively maturing adaptive capabilities can translate static climate-related disclosures into a dynamic process of learning and implementation for improved resilience across strategy, risk management, and capital allocation.
This series is aligned with the IFRS S2 (ISSB) pillars, and the UK Transition Plan Taskforce (TPT) guidance for metals and mining, integrating key principles together with ISO 14090/14091 concepts — including vulnerability assessment, adaptation options, and thresholds and triggers — into a structured maturity journey accessible to both preparers and investors.
The session will feature:
- Opening remarks by lead co-authors Dr Rose Clarke (Operations Director, Satarla) and Angie Woo, MSc SCR (Resilience Investments Director, Climate Sense)
- A panel discussion with industry and disclosure experts
- Open Q&A
Attendees will leave with concrete, actionable ideas for strengthening adaptive capacity in mining — and a framework for translating those lessons across sectors critical to a low-carbon global economy such as transportation and utilities.
