Broken Umbrella Challenge – Invent with waste!

British Library 96 Euston Road London NW1 2DB

About this Event

What can a broken toy become?

Join us at the British Library during London Climate Action Week for our BBC-featured Broken Umbrella Challenge workshop. We’ll be taking apart broken toys and unwanted objects, looking at what’s inside, and using the pieces to invent something new. Along the way, we’ll be thinking like creative climate problem solvers, exploring waste, reuse and eco-innovation in a hands-on, playful way.

It’s all part of our mission to help reduce the 28 million toys thrown away every year in the UK.

Aimed at ages 5+.

See you there!

Our activities are practical, accessible, and solutions-focused, helping young people build confidence as curious thinkers and future problem-solvers.
