Adapting to the Rising Risk of Climate Change: Local Government in Central London

Central London Forward has prepared a report, to be launched during London Climate Action Week. It focuses on how climate change is impacting central London and what local government needs to adapt at the scale and pace required. Extreme heat, flooding, drought and infrastructure disruption are already affecting residents, public services and local economies across the capital. The report highlights the growing pressures facing boroughs, alongside the barriers limiting effective adaptation, including fragmented funding, weak statutory frameworks and challenges communicating climate risk.  This event will bring together local authorities, researchers, policymakers and climate resilience practitioners to discuss practical solutions, collaboration opportunities and the policy changes needed to strengthen climate resilience across London.
