UCL East London E20 2AF United Kingdom

About this Event

The 16th UCL Risk and Disaster Reduction annual conference brings together researchers, practitioners and policymakers during London Climate Action Week to explore ‘Cities of the future: risks, resilience and reimagination’.

Across a full day at UCL East, the programme features a keynote from Loretta Hieber Girardet (UNDRR), a plenary panel on responsible intelligence (AI, ethics and risk governance), and afternoon sessions spanning infrastructure and multi‑hazard risk, urban displacement and social vulnerability, and an explorative hackathon reimagining climate‑resilient cities.

Designed for academics, engineers, urban planners, humanitarian and climate‑resilience professionals, and students, the conference offers a space to share evidence, debate emerging risks, and shape how cities anticipate and adapt to uncertainty.
